Kenya Christian Professionals Forum

Introduction

Kenya Christian Professionals Forum (KCPF) brings Christian professionals  from diverse denominations across the country. The core values centre on family, religion, value-based education and governance. We stand for positive change in society using advocasy efforts that resonate with biblical principles.

What is a youth declaration? It is a declaration based on resolutions that have been agreed upon and it should not involve coercion from a higher force. The one passed at UN Civil Society although passed by youth, has a driving force behind it. We as youth, we refuse to be coerced by a higher force for it's own objectives rather than youth objectives. Ours is by the youth and for the youth, not for the objectives of another organization.

We are gathered here at a side event of UN Civil Society that was held from 9th to 10th May 2024 while our side event was held from 8th to 10th May 2024. We are the voice of the youth, we represent the youth who feel misrepresented. We as voices unheard we have declarations.

We are youth from different backgrounds who declare that the unborn child needs care even after birth. This goes hand in hand with the affirmation of human dignity and life. The sanctity of life before birth and after death. The right to life means no right to abortion. The sanctity of life should be respected from conception to death.

The family as the cornerstone of the community. The traditional family structure is the cornerstone of civilization. We call on Governments, civil institutions and families to reaffirm the family as the basic institution of the society.

Asserting the right of every child to education.

The well-being of our planet depends on the well-being of it's inhabitants.

Regulation of technology. Censorship and access to AI should be regulated. Digital public infrastructure should be implemented to ensure more people can be connected to the internet.

Promote educational curriculum that focuses on conversation of natural habits.

Endangered species should be protected and climate change should be kept in check. Climate policy should include promoting renewable energy and reducing carbon emissions.

We invited civil society, professional bodies, religious institutions and UN to join us in upholding human dignity.

All the above are alternative youth declarations to what UN will release at their youth declaration.

Conclusion: Side events are meetings, presentations or panel discussions on topics that are relevant to the work of any UN assembly that are held outside the formal proceedings. The organization of these meetings may or may not be coordinated and facilitated by the secretariat. But the content of the side event is up to the organizer. As the organizer, KCPF has an agenda that partially disagrees with UN resolutions. We are not necessarily an opposition to UN Civil Society, we are instead an independent voice. This same independent voice is not a secular voice, we follow the foundation of biblical principles. Hence the need to speak out on the rights of the unborn child, the evil of abortion and the importance of recognizing the family as the cornerstone of any community.
