Press Briefing by Hon Mwaniki, Nairobi Central MCA

In Nairobi's Central Business District (CBD), designated areas for pick-up and drop-off are crucial for maintaining smooth traffic flow and ensuring safety for commuters. These areas are primarily designated by the Nairobi City County Government to help reduce congestion and allow for safe vehicle movement. These pick-up and drop-off zones are part of ongoing efforts by the Nairobi County Government to regulate traffic and ensure commuter safety. The use of designated zones helps avoid disorder and reduce congestion in the highly trafficked CBD area.

We are against County officials who have sold spaces in the CBD to do many numerous saccos and are still going on with the same plans. Then there are shoe shines everywhere yet they should be in designated areas. Then there are sausages and smokies bring sold all over the streets. This is affecting restaurants that pay rates to the county. Their sales business is dipping due this hawking menace.

We declare that there should be no more new stages for new saccos. Any new saccos should join the already established saccos. There is also space in Green park and Ngara for saccos looking for new spaces for setting up new stages.
