Nairobi Hospital hosts Magical Kenya Medical Tourism Forum

Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) is a state corporation established under the Tourism Act 2011. It has the mandate to coordinate a National Tourism Marketing Strategy. 

The forum was organized by Magical Kenya and Kenya Tourism Board. The various stakeholders were medical specialists, hospitality partners, Government and County representatives. 

According to Ministry of Health, Kenya attracts around 5,000 medical tourists annually, mostly from neighbouring countries. According to Mr Samuel Odede, Director of Medical Services at Nairobi Hospital, Kenya has the potential to attract international patients beyond the limited coverage of neighbouring countries. Kenya Tourism Board outlined the strategy they have in place to enhance Kenya's visibility on the international stage.

The forum was concluded by a summary of take-aways and the next steps to take. It includes marketing efforts to drive medical tourism in Kenya.
