Issues Affecting the Country
The status involving Gen Z's is worrying including unlawful abductions and extra judicial killings. As a party we share our displeasure with the current situation. We have a lawyer who escaped from. River Maragwa after being abducted. IPOA is quiet, can't prosecute the killers. The Genzs are not alone. They have initiated a timely fight, they have confirmed that our voices had not been in vain. It is a wind vibrating across nations, citizens rising against neo-colonialism policies. This is a national movement not just Genzs. Don't fall into divide and conquer tactics. Foreigners under the banner of IMF and World Bank are into taking over our land. Because of their interests, freehold land has been turned into leasehold land.
Mr President we have been doing dialogue with you but you didn't listen. An example is when you set up a tribunal to send IEBC Commissioners home. This Government will hardly go beyond 2025, if they continue in the same trajectory.
As a party, we champion constitutional rights The rights include: Right to life which must be protected. Right to freedom and security inorder to avoid detention without trial, torture and unauthorized interrogation. Right to assemble, demonstrate and present complaints to public office.
As a part we stand with the victims of police brutality. We call for the following remedial actions:
a) Independent investigations on deaths, injuries and abductions.
b) Judicial intervention. Address violations and protect constitutional rights.
c) Parliamentary oversight. It has lost its oversight role over the Executive and has instead teamed up with the Executive.
d) Police Reforms. The Police ought to respect human rights and gain skills in crowd control. It is illegal to lob teargas upon peaceful protesters. We invite the international community to join us in condemning police brutality.
Alternatives to current affairs
We need to change from bring a consumer nation to bring a producing nation. This will then enable us to create more employment for the youths and other marginalized members of the community.
We fought for freedom but haven't achieved it yet. At one time we moved from one party system to multi party system but that was not yet Uhuru or freedom. So far we are not yet free as the Executive has managed to capture other arms of the Government.
The Constitution as currently it is mostly protects the elite although it was originally designed to protect everyone.
Farming has been turned into agribusiness so that it is all about making profits at any cost. Pesticides are used to increase production at the expense of the safety of consumers. The solution is going back to agrarian lifestyle that involves consuming healthy food.
Put a stop on the endless cycle of debt. We should stop taking debt and stop paying debt. The international community should stop suggesting to us what to do as we need to have home grown solutions. The Biblical ten commandments can practically solve our problems. It can ensure that the vulnerable who are the poor, the orphans, the widows can access resources. It is the opposite of the rich becoming richer and the poor becoming poorer.
On the issue of dialogue we say no dialogue while killing, no dialogue while deploying the police and the military.
