52nd EARACG Meeting held in Nairobi on 18th November 2024



This bi-annual Commissioner's General meeting brings together heads of revenue authorities and senior officials from the East African region to share experiences and address common tax administration challenges. The key note address was given by Hon John Mbadi, Treasury CS. Commissioners present include: Robert Mutebiof Uganda, Yusuf Juma of Tanzania, Jean Claude of Burundi, Daniel Dominic of Malawi, Said Ali of Zanzibar, Fascal Mohamed of Somalia, Daniel Dunguna of Malawi among other officials. 



The theme for the 52nd EARACG meeting: Enhancing tax compliance through effective community engagement in a digital era.

Speaking during the opening of the meeting, National Treasury and Economic Planning Cabinet Secretary, Hon. CPA John Mbadi Ng’ongo has said this is critical in view of the need to reduce reliance on foreign debt as well as the growing global competition for scarce financial resources that has come in the wake of geopolitical events such as the conflict in the Middle East.CS Mbadi has also hailed the progress that is being made towards achieving tax harmonization through removal of tax distortions, improving resource allocation, increasing transparency, eliminating frontier controls while enhancing revenue collection.

The integration of technology in revenue administration 
The sharing of best practices among East African Revenue Authorities.
