        NCCK 65th General Assembly  NCCK held the 65th General Assembly at Jumuia Conference, Limuru from 20th to 23rd August 2024. The theme of the conference is Dignified Livelihoods, Resilient Communities drawn from Galatians 6:9. This assembly meets once every three years. The 65th General Assembly raised matters of national concern. 1. Build a better Kenya for all. The country has largely been peaceful after the 2022 general elections but issues have been swept under the carpet. Peaceful Protesters have either been killed or injured, lots of injustice and democracy has deteriorated. All this has been made worse by citizens feeling excluded from decision making on national issues. We recognize the generation Z for organizing protests that fffffenabled radical Government changes. Press Briefing by Government Spokesperson Hon Senator (Dr) Isaac Mwaura on 22nd August 2024 His excellency President William Ruto on Friday July 5th 2024 announced various austerity measures. One of them states that public servants who attain retirement age of 60 years should retire immediately. A total of 39,361 civil servants are expected to retire within the next five years.  Youth empowerement. Last week Monday was International Youth Day. The BETA plan established 274 digital hubs to create job opportunities for the youth across the country. An example is jitume hub located at Rift Valley Institute of Technology that has employed over 200 youth and trained more than 516,505 youth on digital skills. It has created over 152,171 digital jobs, reducing the unemployment levels in the country. It has activated the local assembly of smart phones available for sale at Safaricom and Telkom outlets. Calls for justice and accountability are being drowned by the political system which drives after it's own interests. The oppressive political system is biased to put resources only where they will benefit. People have been abducted and kidnapped from different locations such as Mombasa, Nairobi, Athi River and many other parts of the country. The constitution has been put down more like it has been suspended. Arbitrary arrests and detentions have become the order of the day. Peaceful Protesters have been killed and found in morgues and abandoned quarries. The aim is to inflict maximum fear upon the population. Some dead bodies found in morgues have been classified as death through accidents.  Disobedience of court orders. An example Malindi Court issued an order on 24th June 2024. NCCK Youth Conference

  2024 NCCK NATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE  More than 160 youth from across the country converged at Jumuia Conference and Country Home, Limuru for the 2024 NCCK National Youth Conference. This conference was guided by the theme "Empowered Youth for Sustainable Livelihoods." This theme was based on the scripture in 1 Thessalonians 4:11.  State of Kenyan youth. Youths are the biggest stakeholders in the country's population accounting for 70% of Kenyan population. It is a major concern that youth continue to be sidelined in the political and religious spheres. To make matters worse, more than 65% of Kenyan youth are unemployed. Message to President William Ruto. The youth are deeply disappointed that the President is not listening to the youth, majority of whom had voted for him.
