Statement by Government Spokesperson Hon (Dr) Isaac Mwaura at KICC on Wednesday 25th September. The BETA (Bottoms up economic transformation agenda)  promotes universal health coverage for all Kenyans without looking at their financial status. This is part of promoting sustainable health financing without discrimination. It also promotes effective supply of health records, leading to common mwananchi receiving better service delivery.  The Government established SHA (Social Health Authority) to replace NHIF. SHA is more sustainable and covers a wider range of medical services. It enables all citizens to access quality healthcare more effectively than before. This is because there is enhanced Government financing.  SHA comes with legal frameworks e.g primary healthcare act and social insurance act which were not in existence during NHIF. Superior Homes Kenya Media Tour

Superior Homes Kenya Media Tour was held on 26th September to showcase the various construction projects. They include:   Greenpark Estate covering 163 acres with stand alone houses occupying 1/4 or 1/8 acre. The entire Greenpark covers Arcadia Mall as a retail centre, Abacus School and Sundowner Hotel. Press Briefing by Greenpeace Africa, and Oil Change International ahead of Cop 29 in Azerbaijan. This press briefing was addressed by Amos Wemanya, Fred Njehu and Antony Otieno of Greenpeace Africa as well as Charity Migwi of Oil Change International. Antony Otieno is a survivor of Mai Mahiu flooding tragedy as well as a volunteer with Greenpeace Africa. Ahead of Cop 19 in Azerbaijan we demand decisive actions.  Recently we had floods in Kenya, cyclones in Mozambique where thousands died and floodings in Kwazulu Natal and Eastern Cape in South Africa. We currently have flooding in Nigeria affecting 11 states. At the Cop 29, African countries should mobilize for international climate financing to become effective. The negotiations should involve different African countries proposing what they need in their specific needs with climate adaptation.  Obligations of the Paris Agreement should be honoured. Press Statement by Government Spokesperson, Dr Isaac Mwaura on September 13th 2024 We are commemorating exactly two years since the ascension into power of President Ruto to the Presidency. Where are we now versus where we were two years ago?  The BETA (Bottom up Economic Transformation Agenda) as the backbone of Government vision was built on key pillars: Economy, Affordable Housing, Digital super highway, Universal Healthcare and Creative economy. Alm the above pillars have had positive steps so far.  Agriculture. This is the backbone of our economic growth. 25% of the country's GDP is based on agriculture and approximately 40% of employment is in the agricultural sector. The Government has always acted on a priority to reduce the cost of living considering 54% of household expenditures goes to food. CS Energy and Petroleum visit to Kenya Power

Inaugural Visit to Kenya Power HQ (Ngara) CS Energy and Petroleum, Hon Opiyo Wandayi visited Kenya Power and Lightning Company for a meeting with the board, management and staff of KPLC. He was accompanied by Alex Wachira, PS Energy and Petroleum, Engineer Dr Joseph Siror, MD Kenya Power and Joy Brenda Masinde, Kenya Power Board Chairperson. They also visited key delivery centres,  the national customer call centre at stima plaza and Juja sub-station. The Board of Directors briefed the CS on KPLC's 5 year strategic plan. This includes the current level of the implementation of the plan.  Instructions were issued to the KPLC board to do institutional reforms and report back to the ministry:  1. Call For The Establishment Of Women Boxing League To Elevated The Sport in Kenya Box Girls Kenya was founded in 2007 by two women who were dreaming to excel in the sport of boxing. One of the founders is Analo Anjere who also doubles up as boxing coach. Sixteen years later, more than 4,000 girls have been trained in boxing. They are now planning to expand to other sports so their empowering activities can expand beyond the boxing ring. Box Girls Kenya is a community based boxing organization located in Kariobangi in Embakasi North Constituency in Nairobi.  Box Girls Kenya have suggested thr establishment of a women,s boxing league in Kenya to help in the development of the sport. Kenyan Government to conduct nationwide inspections of Development Projects  Today's briefing come from the background of several reports on abandoned projects which also project a situation of corruption.  The Government is responding by conducting inspections of Development Projects started by the Government. Officials from the Office of the President will conduct all the necessary inspections across all regions. Even remote regions will be included to prove how the Government has achieved a lot unlike the allegations. These inspections will prove that the projects are not ghost projects and that what is on the ground matches what is on paper.  Lawyer-turned activist Morara Kebaso has done documented incomplete or ghost projects and also alleging corruption practices. Chelugui Hands Over To Oparanya

Hon Simon Chelugui officially hands over to Hon Oparanya the reigns of the ministry of Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME's). Hon Chelugui reflected on his achievements as he handed over the reigns to Hon Oparanya. The achievements include the following: The development of a cooperative bill which had been all talk and no action for the last 15 years. It had severally faced several hurdles which were effectively handled to offer practical solutions. His tenure had lasted for one year and 18 months which is almost two years of starting off a new ministry.  The revival of KUSSCO was done effectively despite hurdles which were both policy and financial. Jimi Wanjigi press statement on the current state of abductions  Safina Party Leader Jimi Wanjigi on Tuesday, September 3, condemned President William Ruto over the illegal abductions that were reported in the country at the height of the anti-government protests. They went against the structures of human rights that also includes the right to picket and present our grievances to any Government offices. Addressing the press at a Nairobi hotel accompanied by his lawyer Willis Otieno and other leaders, Wanjigi asked Kenyans to rise up and demand accountability and justice over the continued abductions witnessed in the country.
